Whats in Trucks?

If you are anything like me then you are curious about things. Mikes are a curious people.

As I walk down the street, I see the big trucks. Trucks which used to seem cool when I was 10 years old. Trucks that men purchase to haul around heavy equipment and lumber.

As the Trucks pass by I want to see. I want to see the implements of construction. Like the soldiers off to battle, I want to see which metal sheets are going where and try to guess what they will be used for. I want to see the freshly sanded new wardrobe snugly transported to its new owners. I want to see an arcade game on route to repairs. I want to see a pile of mattresses out for delivery or a rolled up bundle of chain-link fence.  But the trucks are tall and I see nothing.


















Occasionally we see a lowered back gate and catch a glimpse of long pieces of wood. Oversized furniture, perhaps a couch. And we cannot look away. I cannot look away.

So I climbed higher to see and I found that the trucks had little to show. 

The trucks must mostly be on the way to the job. Or maybe they have just dropped off a good load of equipment. I mean gee whiz there's a lot of empty trucks.....
